Getting to LG Darmstadt by plane
Several German airports are situated close to Darmstadt. Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) might be first choice since it is one of Europe's leading airports and there are direct connections to most major international airports. It takes only 25 minutes to get there by bus from Darmstadt city center. There is a Direct bus connection to Darmstadt (website in german but pdf with map and schedule also in english) from Darmstadt train station to the airport (costs about 8€).
You can also travel by train from Frankfurt Airport to Darmstadt, that takes about an hour. Take the train S8 or S9 to „Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof“ and change for the S3 to „Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof“. From there on, follow the instructions on „Getting to LG Darmstadt by train“.
Ryanair connections are available to Frankfurt Hahn Airport which is 120 km west of Darmstadt. There are bus connections from Frankfurt Hahn to Frankfurt main station and Frankfurt International Airport.
Getting to LG Darmstadt by train
Darmstadt's main station is part of Deutsche Bahn train network. There are many daily connections to national and international destinations. Since trains are pretty expansive in Germany you might better book early to get a special offer. On the other hand paying the full price enables you to flexibly choose your train connection. Since it is not necessary to make a reservation, you can take any train even if all seats are taken.
Travel to „Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof“ (20 minutes by train from the main station of Frankfurt). From there take the tram 3 (direction „Lichtenbergschule“) to „Willy-Brandt-Platz“. Then follow the way on the map to the building of our local group.
